Halloween Nail Tutorial

Even if you don't like dressing up for Halloween, you can still have the perfect manicure! This design can be used on Halloween or just put a tree on every nail for a lovely Autumn design.

After applying a base coat to protect your natural nails, paint them all white.  It may take multiple coats to make it opaque.  I used two coats of Barry M '66 - Matt White'.

After this, choose three 'sunset' colours like yellow, pale orange and a darker orange.  I used Rimmel '055 - Sunshine', '504 - It's A Scorcher' and Collection 2000 '28 - Hip Hop'.

Using a makeup sponge which you can get quite cheaply at most places, paint three stripes of the colours and apply to your nail.  Again, you may have to do this twice to make sure that the colours are opaque.  If you want to, you can apply a top coat now to smooth the lines and make the colours blend better. This step can get a bit messy so just clean up the edges with a cotton bud dipped into nail polish remover.

Then use a black nail pen or stiper to paint black lines at the bottom of your nail for the ground. (If you don't have a stiper then you can use an old liquid eyeliner brush or kirby grip dipped in black polish). Next, paint the silhouette of a tree on some nails and on others paint grave stones with some 'w' shapes for bats. Add either a matt or normal top coat and you're done!

Sweater Weather

I am currently on my October break from school so obviously I had to spend some of my time off going shopping! I bought a few new clothes including a whole new outfit which I will show you now.

This jumper is one of the softest things I own.  It is really cosy and also it sparkles a bit when the light catches it which will make it perfect for wearing around Christmas! I added my long owl necklace because I basically love anything owl related.

These are Joni jeans from Topshop. I usually prefer to wear plain bottoms with a more statement top but I couldn't resist these! Topshop jeans are so comfy and soft and they are some of the only ones I have found that actually fit me properly so I now own three pairs.

Burgundy is definitely my favourite colour for Autumn/Winter time and when I saw these boots I just couldn't resist them. They have a slight wedged heel and are fleecy inside so they will be really warm as it gets colder.  They are also waterproof which will be really handy in British weather!

Another thing I couldn't resist is this bag. I am trying to stop using massive bags because it makes me over pack and can be really heavy so this bag is the perfect size.  It is quite small but not too small and I love the colour of it.

Out of the Blue

It is getting a lot colder here which means it is now sweater weather (aka my favourite time of year).

A new addition to my jumper collection is this black quilted one from We Run This. It is so soft and the zips add that little something extra. I added this silver rocks necklace too.

I paired it with some blue skinny jeans which I've had forever so I can't remember where they're from and this gorgeous black/blue bag from Lipsy which I have used so much since I got it.

The shoes I wore were my black platforms from ShuSole, definitely one of my favourite pairs of shoes that I own.  All of ShuSole's shoes are really good prices and such good quality, I own about four pairs from there now!

I love how the splashes of bright blue from the jeans and bag brighten this outfit up.  Just because it's Autumn now doesn't mean you have to banish bright colours :)

Fall Favourites (Tag)

As it is now October, I wanted to do an Autumn themed blog post so here are my answers to the 'Fall Favourite Things' tag!

- Fall Beauty Faves -

1. Face Product
Being really pale has its disadvantages, one of them being that it is almost impossible to find foundation that is the right shade so my favourite autumn face product is the same as it is all year round - Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in the shade 010 light porcelain.  It is quite light coverage but is the perfect shade and I love it :)

2. Cheek Product
Bourjois blushers are so pigmented and I really love this one in the shade '34 Rose d'Or / Golden Rose'.  It has the perfect amount of shimmer and is a gorgeous colour.

3. Eye Product
The Maybelline colour tattoo in the shade 'on and on bronze' is such a nice Autumnal shade and as you can see, I have been using it quite a lot!

4. Lip Product
I don't really wear dark lipsticks even in Autumn/Winter but I love the H&M lip pen in the shade 'honeysuckle'. It is a lovely berry colour without being too much.

5. Hair Product
My hair can get quite dry in the colder weather so I use a little bit of Moroccan Argan Oil on the ends and it keeps it soft and healthy :)

6. Fragrance/Candle
My all time favourite Fall scent has to be Yankee candle's Black Cherry.  It smells amazing and last year I burnt a full large jar plus several votives of it, I love it!

7. Nail Polish
Burgundy is one of my favourite Autumnal colours which is why this GOSH nail polish in the shade '008 Berry Me' has to be my favourite for this time of year.

1. Trendy Clothing Item
Black skinny jeans are definitely my most worn clothing item as it gets colder.  I really love these ones from Vanilla Star, they are so comfy!

2. Comfy Clothing Item
Definitely cosy jumpers/cardigans, can never have too many.

3. Shoes
Boots are a obviously a must have in the colder weather, and this year I have been loving military-style boots.  These ones are from Shoe Zone.

4. Accessory
Rose gold is so gorgeous and the fact that this Klaus Kobec watch is that colour makes it even more stunning. It is my go-to watch and I will definitely continue to wear it this Autumn.

- Fun Favourites -

1. Halloween or Thanksgiving?
We don't actually celebrate Thanksgiving here so I will have to say Halloween!

2. Favourite Festive Food and/or Drink
I love toffee apples and bonfire lollies in Autumn, although I may have to give them a miss this year because I have braces now so they could be a bit tricky to eat :( My favourite drink would have to be the vanilla spice hot chocolate from Starbucks, it is delicious and so good on cold days!

3. What's the happiest part about fall for you?
I just love being able to get all cosy in massive jumpers with hot chocolate and obviously the fact that it means it is getting closer to Christmas!

4. Who do you tag?
I tag anyone who wants to do it :)
