What's In My Travel Makeup Bag?

I am off to Cornwall next weekend for the main purpose of a university open day but since it is such a long drive we thought we may as well stay there for a couple of nights and make the most of it. As we are only going for a short while, I only really need to take the basics so here is what I will be taking in my travel make up bag(s).

I am going to be taking two bags, one for brushes and one for the actual make up since neither bag is big enough for everything.  The smaller 'T' bag is from Alphabet Bags and is such good quality.  I love it because it's usually really hard to get things with the letter T on haha.  The other (which I will be using for my brushes) is from Zoeva and I got it with the Rose Gold brush set but you can also get them separately.

Let's start with what brushes I will be taking. From left to right I have:
Zoeva 102 / silk finish, which I use for liquid foundation
Barbara Daly powder brush
Zoeva 110 / face shape, perfect for blending concealer
Maybelline gel liner brush
Barbara Daly brush with no name
Real Techniques blush brush
Zoeva 231 / Luxe petit crease
Zoeva 317 / wing liner, I prefer to use this for my eyebrows as I have another brush for liner
Zoeva 127 / luxe sheer cheek, amazing for contouring
Zoeva 227 / luxe soft definer
You can probably see from that why I need a separate bag for brushes!

Face;
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in 010 Light Porcelain
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in 1 Fair
Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 001 Transparent
Sleek Face Form Palette in Fair
The Sleek palette is perfect for travelling as it includes a blush, bronzer, highlighter and mirror all in one.

Eyebrows;
Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix eyebrow shaping kit in Medium-Dark
This is amazing for travelling as it is so compact and it includes 3 shades of powder, wax, tweezers, brush and mirror, everything you would need for doing your brows.

Eyes;
No7 Smoky Rose Quad and individual Stay Perfect eyeshadow in the shade 10 Wheatsheaf, all of which are both wearable for everyday and also buildable.
Maybelline gel liner
Maybelline 'The Falsies' mascara
Maybelline 'Rocket Volume' mascara
I always use two mascaras (one for top lashes and one for bottom) because I hate having really long bottom lashes so I use one that doesn't give as much length for those.

Lips;
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Baby Lips in Mint Fresh
Rimmel Kate Moss lipticks in shades 03 and 101
I am not a bold lipstick wearer so I prefer to take one pink and one nude, plus lip balm and lip scrub.

I do tend to over pack but I'm pretty sure that everything here is necessary!

Monochrome

It's starting to get colder in England now that summer is officially over so I figured it was time to stock up on Autumn/Winter clothes.  I went and did a little shopping and picked up a new oversized coat which I adore.

I also picked up this white patterned shirt with hearts on which is so cute. Full price it was only around £14 but I had a 25% off voucher too, so for only £10.50 it was too hard to resist.

Paired with black skinny's, boots and a backpack, I think this outfit will be perfect for Autumn/Winter.

Heart print shirt - Matalan
Boyfriend coat - Matalan
Backpack - Lookbook Store
Jeggings - Vanilla Star
Boots - Shoe zone

Skincare Routine

My skincare routine is quite simple but it seems to work pretty well for me! All the products I use are really affordable too :)

I start off by using Garnier's micellar cleansing water to remove my makeup. I always used to use makeup wipes for this step until I found out that they're apparently really drying for your skin. I also found that this cleansing water removes everything so much better and easier!

Then I cleanse my face using the Simple kind to skin cleansing lotion. This isn't really necessary after using the cleansing water but I still prefer to do it.

The toner I use is Lush's tea tree water.  I got this for my birthday a couple of months ago and have been using it daily ever since. Tea tree is antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobial so is perfect for both preventing and treating spots. It feels really refreshing and since it is in a spray bottle it is so quick and easy to use.

I follow this with the Simple kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser.  I love Simple products because they don't contain any harsh chemicals or perfumes that are bad for your skin.

I also apply tea tree oil to anywhere it looks like I may need it, because as I said before it is an antiseptic and perfect for preventing/treating spots which we all get!

That is the routine I use morning and night but there are a couple of other products that I occasionally use too. The first is a Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub. Using this is supposed to help eliminate blemishes and it also smells amazing!  I also use Soap & Glory's peaches and clean deep purifying cleanser.  I don't use this as often as normal cleanser because it is a deeper cleanse. It smells really good too, as do all Soap & Glory products.

I was recently sent some 'dream dots'* to try and they are so good. They are basically little clear gel-like stickers which you stick on a spot before you go to bed.  Overnight, the centre of the dot should turn white to show you that it has worked and when you removed it your spot should look smaller and much less red!

Finally, ever other week or so I use a Montagne Jeunesse face mask.  They have so many different types from peel offs to clay masks to self heating ones.  They also come in such a wide range of scents, there is one for everybody.  I personally love the chocolate scented ones the most, but as you can see I have quite a collection of others too!

That is everything that I usually use and I would recommend all of it :)
