May favourites

This is my first 'monthly favourites' post and I'll be including fashion / beauty favourites as well as other random things I've been loving :)

Starting with beauty favourites, the first thing I've been loving is the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. The colours are mainly pink-toned and there is such a wide range from shimmery colours to matte colours, and from pale nude colours to an almost black shade.  It is perfect for every day wear and also for more made-up looks.  Even the case is gorgeous!

Next thing I've been loving is the Body Shop all-in-one BB cream.  Since I'm so pale, it can be hard to find a foundation shade that's right, but this BB cream is colour adapting. It goes on white and then blends to match your skin tone perfectly.  It has been part of my every day make up routine for the whole of May and I will definitely be repurchasing it when it runs out!

A few days ago I received these Zoeva brushes.  They are the 'rose gold luxury brush set' and are such a gorgeous colour!  They are super soft too and there's one for basically everything - foundation, powder, blush, eyes etc.  Plus they come in a bag which has the same coloured rose gold detailing and is the right size to be used as a make up bag too.  Such good quality brushes and I would definitely recommend them :)

Another of my favourites this month has been the 'aqua splash' tangle teezer.  I have wanted a tangle teezer for so long but always thought they were a bit expensive for just a brush.  Then I saw this one, which is specially designed to keep in the shower.  It is usually bad to brush your hair when it's wet as it breaks easily and can make it damaged however this is designed to not damage your hair at all and you can also stand it up to drain the water out after you've used it.  It gets rid of all tangles so easily and I don't know how I've survived without one up until now!

I think that all soap and glory products are amazing but I have been loving the sugar crush body wash this month.  It smells really fresh and citrus-y, like limes and mojitos. It is the perfect scent for now that it is almost summer and is definitely my favourite this month.

There has been 2 items of jewellery that I have worn so much since I got them.  The first is the key necklace from Danielle's jewellery which was featured in my last outfit post and the second is this heart locket which opens into a watch.  They are both so cute and I have worn them both a lot during May.

Finally, my random / music favourite this month has been McBusted! I have seen McFly soo many times live and they are always amazing so I obviously had to go and see them this year too.  I saw them on my birthday at the start of the month and then again two weeks after.  There was a few too many Busted songs compared to McFly songs for my liking but I loved it anyway.

That's it for my May favourites. I hope you enjoyed and feel free to leave a comment of what your favourite things this month have been :) x

Pink and Black OOTD

As you are all probably aware, it is exam season :(  Since I am in 6th form, we wear our own clothes rather than a uniform and I actually find that dressing smartly helps me to get more into the mind set of exams, as weird as that sounds!  So here is an outfit I wore to one of my recent ones.

It has been unusually warm in England for the past few days, which means summer may be on its way.  I actually prefer winter weather personally, but summer fashion.  For the past few months I have tended to stick to darker colours but I am determined to brighten up my wardrobe now so how could I resist this gorgeous pink shirt from Next? I paired it with a black skirt with silver buckles (since I'm clearly not ready to give up black just yet), black shoes and cute key necklace from Danielle's Jewellery.

I also took a cardigan with me just in case it got a bit cold in the exam room.

Shirt - Next
Cardigan - Matalan
Necklace - Danielle's Jewellery *
Skirt - Tammy at BHS (currently unavailable but you can get similar elsewhere)
Shoes - Matalan

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading! x

Lush Birthday Haul

If you read my birthday wishlist post a few weeks ago, you will know that I was hoping for some Lush products. Well, I got some so I thought I'd share them :) I also got a couple of these love heart baskets which are perfect for storing it all in!

Lush is one of my favourite shops, I literally can't go in without buying something but I haven't tried any of the things I received for my birthday so I'm excited to!

The first thing is these shower jellies.  One of them came in 'the sweetest thing' gift set and the bigger one came separately on its own. They both smell absolutely gorgeous!  I got some shower jelly when it first came out forever ago, but it wasn't in a pot like it is now so I accidentally dropped it down the shower, oops :( I will be a lot more careful with these ones though! The 'sweetie pie' one smells quite sweet of blackcurrant and cherries whereas the 'whoosh' one smells more citrus-y.

I also got the 'out of this world' gift set and one of the things in that was the 'space girl' bath bomb.   It is a pretty lilac colour with red and blue, and apparently has popping candy inside so I'm excited to try it!

Also in these sets were two soaps - the 'Godmother' soap and 'Rock star' soap.  I recently bought the Godmother soap and loved it so much, it smells of the Christmas snow fairy scent which is amazing so I'm really glad I have another one now!  Both these soaps smell really sweet and gorgeous :)

Next up is probably the cutest thing I've ever had from Lush.  It is the bunny bubble bar which was part of the Easter range and it is adorable!  I love the bubble bars from Lush, especially the comforter, but I think this one beats it purely on the cuteness factor :)

Another thing which was in 'the sweetest thing' gift set is this 'Shimmy Shimmy' massage bar. You massage it into your skin and it leaves it moisturised and slightly shimmery.  In the description it says you can use it to 'pep up pale skin' which is definitely what I need haha!

I also received the tea tree water which so many people have recommended to me.  I have used it regularly since I got it and can already feel a difference in my skin.  It makes it feel really fresh and since it's a spray it is super easy to use too :)

Finally is this little tester of the 'angels on bare skin' cleanser which looks a bit weird but it smells of lavender which is lovely and is supposed to be really good! :)

And that's it :)  I am so so grateful for everything I received so a big thank you to everyone who got me something! Hope you enjoyed reading x

Uncommon Nonsense

Today's post is on a package I received from Uncommon Nonsense containing two beautiful dresses.

I fell in love instantly when I opened the bag because everything was wrapped Alice in Wonderland inspired, with tissue paper packages tied with string, rabbit and clock charms and little 'wear me' labels.

The first dress is the 'White Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit' dress (I will leave the links to everything at the end of this post)

It is a navy colour with cute white rabbits all over.  It has capped sleeves and a lace collar with a cute velvet bow and also comes with a detachable faux fur collar and stag brooch.

I feel like I'm in a fairytale with the faux fur collar on and if you pair it with black tights and boots you can wear the dress in winter as well as spring / summer :)

The second dress I kindly received is the 'Six Impossible Things' dress. (Again, all links will be at the end of this post).

It is a sleeveless shift dress with a really unique and gorgeous clock print.  This dress too has a super cute collar and velvet bow :)  It would be easy to style it to wear all year round, you could add tights and a cardigan to wear it in the autumn/winter.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you would like to have a look at Uncommon Nonsense's other products, the links will be below this.  They have even been kind enough to give 25% off and a free Alice themed necklace with your order just by using the code UNCOMTIERNEY
