Ombré curls {with VP Fashion extensions}

My hair is already quite long so I don't need extensions for length but I got these ombré extensions from VP Fashion and they're so gorgeous! They are the longest length (24 inches) which is about the same length as my real hair but they give an ombré effect without having to dye your natural hair which is amazing.  If you are like me and have previously had ombréd hair then you will probably know how hard it is to cover up but that is not a problem with these as they are only clip-ins so you can just remove them :) They are real human hair too, so they are really soft and good quality and you can do anything you would to your normal hair to them! Also, you can get them dyed to your specifications and they won't be sent off until you are 100% happy with them :)

To put them in, I start off by separating my hair horizontally at ear level. I clip the top section out of the way and then attach one of the 3-clip pieces (there are  2 x 3-clip, 2 x 4-clip and 4 x 1-clip pieces in the set that I got).  Then I section my hair about an inch up and clip in one of the 4-clip pieces and repeat this step again.  I use the 1-clip pieces at the sides. I've found that this is the best way to use the pieces for me :)

While the extensions do look nice on straight hair too, I've found that curling it gives a more natural look to the ombré and I generally prefer it so I used my Nicky Clarke straighteners and Babyliss curling wand to curl my hair.

This is the finished result!

If you want to get some VP Fashion Extensions for yourself, the lovely people there have been kind enough to give a discount code for you all.  Just use the code 'tierneyellen13672' to get $10 off your purchase :)

3d mint floral nails

These 3d mint floral nails are inspired by two things.  First are some mint green daisy earrings I have from a local jewellers (Helen West Jewellery) and second is a green/blue floral dress from WalG, both of which I am wearing today :) The nails are super easy to do and I think they look so cute! So if you want to find out how to do them then keep on reading..

First, paint your nails with a clear base coat to protect them.  Then, paint them opaque white.  I used two coats of Barry M's 'Matt White'.

Next, I painted a star shape using Barry M's 'Greenberry' and a dotting tool. My dotting tool is actually a paper embossing thing from the range and was only around £3 for a set of 3 double ended tools.  You could also use a kirby grip / bobby pin, the end of a pen or anything else you have that is the right size! This is probably the hardest bit but it doesn't have to be perfect :) I tried to do one whole flower on each nail (two on each thumb) and then have a few petals around the edges.

When they had dried, I put a dot of clear top coat in the middle of the whole flowers and then used a pointed wooden stick to place a small bead / gem to make the centre of the flowers 3d.

A layer of topcoat to seal on the beads and your nails are finished!

Hope you enjoyed and if you try out the design then feel free to send me a picture of them on Instagram, I would love to see! Thanks for reading :) x

Beauty Bargains

It can be hard buying makeup from the drug store as you never know if the low prices are a reflection of their quality so I thought I'd share a few of my favourite drug store beauty products that are all under £10!

Skin;
My favourite foundation is the Rimmel Match Perfection.  I have it in the shade '010 Light Porcelain' and it is one of the only foundations I have used which actually matches my extremely pale skin tone.  It has reasonable coverage but is quite light so it is perfect for summer.  And the best thing about it is that it is only around £6.99.  On top of this, I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the shade '001 Transparent' as it gives no extra colour but stops any shine throughout the day.  This powder is only £3.99.

Another of my favourites is the Sleek 'face form' palette.  I have it in the shade 'fair' and it includes a blush, bronzer and highlighter for only £9.99.  I think this is such a good price because you get 3 products for that. The blush is a pretty rose gold colour and the contour isn't too harsh or shimmery which is perfect.

Eyebrows;
My favourite eyebrow set is the Makeup Revolution 'Focus and Fix Brow Kit'.  You can get it in light-medium or medium-dark and each palette contains three shades of powder and a clear wax to set them with, along with a brush to apply it and a mini pair of tweezers. For £2.50 you can't really go wrong!

Eyes;
I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoos.  They are cream eye shadows that are really pigmented and easy to apply, plus they come in a wide range of colours.  I have 'pink gold', 'on and on bronze' and 'eternal silver'.  My most used is 'on and on bronze' as it is perfect for every day wear.  They are only £4.99 too :)

My favourite mascara at the minute is Maybelline's 'the falsies'.  It has a curved brush which is amazing for coating all of your lashes equally and even without curling them, it makes them long and voluminous. It's also amazing value at only £7.99.

Lips;
If you have never tried an MUA lipstick then I definitely recommend you do.  They aren't as pigmented as some higher priced lipsticks but for only £1 you can't really complain!  I have the shades '05' which is a shimmery pink and '09' which is a darker, more autumnal shade.

All of these products are really affordable at under £10 and are all amazing for the price they are.  Hope you enjoyed reading and maybe found something new you want to try out! x

What's in my bag?

Firstly I want to apologise for the lack of posts recently, but now that it's nearly the holidays I should have much more time for blogging :)

Now onto the post!  Today I am showing you what's in my bag, as it has been requested so much.
I am usually the kind of person who packs everything that will fit 'just in case' but I recently bought this little bag from Jane Norman and it has made me have to restrict what I take with me quite a lot!

I got the bag for only £7 down from about £25 since the Jane Norman in my town was closing down.  It is black with gold detailing and inside there is two main sections and a zip pocket too.

First thing in my bag is my sunglasses.  These are obviously a necessity and mine are from Topshop for £16. I love the neon case with them too :)

The following few things seem to have a pink theme but that wasn't planned haha.

First pink thing is my compact tangle teezer. If you read my May favourites blog post, you will know that I love my aqua splash tangle teezer but it's not the easiest thing to fit in a bag, so the compact one is perfect as it works just as well but it is small enough to fit in your handbag.  It also has a cover so things don't get stuck in the bristles when it's in your bag.

I always carry a packet of mints wherever I go! These are 'Just Mints' and they're so nice and only small so perfect to fit in your handbag.  I also have a mini soap and glory 'hand food' hand cream in case I want to moisturise my hands when I'm out and a 'strawberry sorbet' eos lipbalm in case I get dry lips :)

A necessity for me is hand sanitiser, you never know when it will come in handy! The one that is currently in my bag is the 'aqua blossom' pocket bac from Bath & Body works, a shop that I really wish we had in the UK :( It smells really good and is the perfect handbag size.  I also like to carry a small perfume/body mist which is why I love this refillable sprayer because you can fill it with whatever scent you're currently loving.

Finally, I have my Lloyd Baker purse and of course my iPhone 5s.

And that's it for what's in my bag, hope you enjoyed reading! :) x
