Halloween Nail Tutorial

Even if you don't like dressing up for Halloween, you can still have the perfect manicure! This design can be used on Halloween or just put a tree on every nail for a lovely Autumn design.

After applying a base coat to protect your natural nails, paint them all white.  It may take multiple coats to make it opaque.  I used two coats of Barry M '66 - Matt White'.

After this, choose three 'sunset' colours like yellow, pale orange and a darker orange.  I used Rimmel '055 - Sunshine', '504 - It's A Scorcher' and Collection 2000 '28 - Hip Hop'.

Using a makeup sponge which you can get quite cheaply at most places, paint three stripes of the colours and apply to your nail.  Again, you may have to do this twice to make sure that the colours are opaque.  If you want to, you can apply a top coat now to smooth the lines and make the colours blend better. This step can get a bit messy so just clean up the edges with a cotton bud dipped into nail polish remover.

Then use a black nail pen or stiper to paint black lines at the bottom of your nail for the ground. (If you don't have a stiper then you can use an old liquid eyeliner brush or kirby grip dipped in black polish). Next, paint the silhouette of a tree on some nails and on others paint grave stones with some 'w' shapes for bats. Add either a matt or normal top coat and you're done!
